Well friends, just a little update, as our plans have changed 2,520 times. Tomorrow we hit the road again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since crossing the border last December, we’ve enjoyed a brief stop in Mexico City, ten weeks in Puerto Vallarta, two visits to Yelapa, and two weeks in Mazatl\u00e1n. Now we set out for the states of Durango, Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Quer\u00e9taro, the State of Mexico, Tlaxcala, Puebla, and Morelos, eventually returning to Jalisco. Our route will take us to pyramids, historical sites, mountains, desert, jungle, major cities, and small towns, including a handful of the ‘Pueblos M\u00e1gicos’: a curated list of 109 particularly vibrant towns around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this whirlwind of a road trip, we settle into house-sitting: I’m looking forward to our house-sit in Guanajuato, caring for a home and garden with six chickens! My heart is bursting to meet these hens. After that, our next house-sit is for the month of September in Le\u00f3n, watching three pups and a cat. We’re hoping to book sits for the time in between, and are pretty confident this will be a great way to see the country. I’ve been making connections to try to get into farm-sitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re spending our days working, researching real estate and farming opportunities, and enjoying Mexico. Evan’s translating his first book, and starting his new career translating documents from various languages to English. I’m teaching myself new photography techniques, and trying to figure out how to fit this into our travels. I’m studying Spanish and Japanese, so I’ll be prepared for wherever we end up. And of course, we’re still praying every month for our first Baby Benton!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
