Today we’re looking at one of Evan’s favorite hobbies: pruning! We spent two work days cleaning up the side yard, finding countless treasures buried in the soil, and even discovering some beautiful plants we didn’t know were hiding in the mess. Of course this is just a preliminary clean up, as this has been completely unattended for over ten years, so it needs a lot of love, and a lot of work!
In the video linked below, Evan will give you a tour around the yard, identify the plants, and talk about our tentative ideas for how best to utilize this space. He’s most excited about the crepe myrtle, sweet olive (one of our favorites from New Orleans), citrus trees, persimmon tree, and heavenly bamboo.
