House-Sit #7: San Andrés Huayapam, Oaxaca, Mexico

House-Sit #7: We’re back in one of our favorite places in Mexico: San Andrés Huayapam, just outside of Oaxaca city, Oaxaca. This is our first repeat house-sit, so we’re comfortable and familiar with their home and doggies. Huayapam is one of the places we’ve spent the most time in Mexico, so it sort of feels like coming home! This house-sit is for six or seven weeks (their return date is undecided) but we will most likely be here in Oaxaca for both October and November.

We’re looking forward to our time here. We’ll be busy with Japanese immigration preparation, emails, and appointments. Wish us luck! We’re both studying to improve our Spanish and Japanese. We will go through the process of our Mexican temporary residency renewal, which we hope to get for three years. I’m tutoring a young woman in photography, which might end up being a few days a week. I’m working on a major overhaul of my photography portfolio for my website, as well as building a website for Benton Homestead. We’ll get to experience our first Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead events). And we hope to have some time to visit and strengthen friendships with new friends here in Huayapam.

That’s a lot!
