Let’s catch up! We recently took the time to film a longer conversation-style video, discussing where we are at this current time, and also what we hope to work on next. It was helpful even for myself, to make this video, because we are still in the planning stages for our next big projects, so even talking about it helps it to make sense in my mind. This is sort of a “slice of life” video conversation, with lots of good interaction from street dog Bosco and rescue kitty Ponkan. Our life in the Japanese countryside, nestled on a little island, part of the Shiminami Kaido in the Seto Sea.
First, we take a look at our current living situation, in our second abandoned house (the former inn, around the corner from our guesthouse). We discuss some upcoming projects to turn this abandoned house into an abandoned home 😉
Then, we look at what will be our next big project: renovating Benton Guesthouse garage into a roadside farm stand and ‘omiyage’ shop! See up close what needs repaired, and how we’ll tackle this big project. We’ve been looking forward to starting this renovation for over a year.
Also, while we have been making videos, I haven’t been as consistently writing corresponding blog posts. So here’s a look at a few of our more recent YouTube videos, which also helps show a few seemingly random things that we’ve been up to during this very busy spring and summer!
Our YouTube video, which shows Benton Guesthouse updates for hot summer weather ⌄
Our YouTube video, giving an update on our growing honeybees and honey production, including an amazing surprise wild swarm! ⌄
Our YouTube video, which shows our first produce & flowers available at Michi no Eki farmer’s markets ⌄
